About us

Our animals are born and raised right here on the property. The property consists of over 160 acres surrounded by the Umpqua National Forest. The cows graze on pastures that vary in elevation from 2800’ to 3500’. The pigs and sheep stay closer to home and graze at about 3000’ elevation.

All the animals are vaccinated and treated for parasites annually. We do not give antibiotics unless necessary to treat an individual animal for an injury. An example would be to give a shot of penicillin to treat an infection from a cut or rattlesnake bite. We keep complete records on all our animals.

Our animals are worked with daily. Changing fields or bringing animals into the barn are only a matter of calling and maybe shaking a grain bucket. We do not chase, brand, or stress our animals. They are however fitted with ear tags for individual identification. We use an elastic banding process for castrating the male beef and sheep. In order to minimize stress on the sheep and pigs, they are brought into a covered and fenced barn at night. This eliminates most predator problems. It also gives us another chance to interact with the animals and monitor their health and well-being.

We believe this low stress environment, coupled with humane harvest right here on the property are the start of excellent beef, pork, and lamb. We follow that up with help on the cut & wrap process and working with your butcher.

We have packed quite a bit of information into this site, so look around and enjoy. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
